Welcome to Join Us – School of Electrical Engineering, Chongqing University

School of Electrical Engineering (SEE), established in 1935, is one of the oldest and strongest schools in Chongqing University, and is among the first doctoral degree conferring units in China. SEE aims to fulfill national needs and achieve industrial goals, and actively responds to national development strategy of power energy. SEE is a key unit of the country’s construction plan of first-class disciplines and world-class universities. It owns a national first-level key discipline (Electrical Engineering), a state key laboratory of Power Transmission Equipment & System Security and New Technology, an innovation base supported by 111 Project, a national base of basic curriculum teaching, and a demonstration centre for basic experiment teaching.

SEE has a well-structured staff team, with 125 full-time lecturers, 54 professors and 39 associate professors, including one Foreign Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, one professor within the “The Thousand Talents Plan”, four “Yangtze Scholars”, one professor within the “The Thousand Young Talents Plan”, three winners of “China National Funds for Distinguished Young Scientists”, one professor within the “The Ten Thousand Talents Plan”, one innovation research group supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China, and one state-level teaching team.

In 2017, SEE led in the foundation of “smart energy” disciplines, and established collaborative innovation centre. In the future, SEE will focus on Smart Energy, Insulation of Power Transmission and Distribution Equipment & System Security and Disaster Prevention, Reliability and Risk Assessment of Power System and Equipment, New Energy Power Equipment and System Security, New Technology of Electrical Engineering and Its Application, and New Motor and Its Intelligent Drive, and build cross-discipline research teams. Recruiting Schemes (SEE encourages and will assist those eligible to apply for The Thousand (Young) Talents Plan)

1. The Thousand Talents   Plan

u    Application Qualifications: be a professor or equivalent position   in a well-known international university, institution, etc.; and generally be   under the age of 55 (for non-Chinese, 65).

u    Employment Mode: Full-time, and the employee should work in CQU   for no less than 9 months for 3 years for long-term project or for no less   than 2 months for 3 years for short-term project.

u    Salary & Fringe Benefits: an annual salary of RMB 800,000   Yuan; an apartment of 180 with a favorable   price; relocation allowance of RMB 1,500,000 Yuan; research start-up grant of   RMB 2,000,000 Yuan.

2. The Thousand Young Talents Plan

u    Application Qualifications: generally be under the age of 40;   have 3 years overseas research experience after getting a PhD degree; have a   teaching or research position in a well-known international university, institution,   etc. while applying; and have worked no more than a year for those who are   already in China.

u    Employment Mode: Full-time, and the employee should work for at   least 3 years.

u    Salary & Fringe Benefits: an annual salary of RMB 600,000   Yuan; an apartment of 180 with a favorable   price; relocation allowance of RMB 1,300,000 Yuan; research start-up grant of   RMB 3,000,000 -5,000,000Yuan.

3.Professor or Associate   Professor from international research-oriented university

u    Qualifications & Requirements: have outstanding academic   performance.

u    Employment Mode: Full-time

u    Salary & Fringe Benefits: negotiable; an apartment of 180   with a favorable price; relocation allowance of RMB 500,000 Yuan; research   start-up grant of RMB 2,000,000 Yuan.

 

4.CQU Outstanding Young   Talents Project

u    Qualifications & Requirements: have a PhD degree with   international study or research experience; and generally be under the age of   40.

u    Employment Mode: Tenure Track; a permanent contract after   assessment within 6 years.

u    Salary & Fringe Benefits: an annual salary of RMB   200,000-300,000 Yuan + bonus; an apartment of 80   with a favorable price; relocation allowance of RMB 200,000 Yuan; research   start-up grant of RMB 2,000,000 Yuan.

5. Lecturers

u  Qualifications & Requirements: a PhD degree from a   first-class university; and generally be under the age of 35.

u  Employment Mode: a contract of 3 years; a permanent contract   after 3-6 years and the university assessment.

u  Salary & Fringe Benefits: the equivalent salary and benefits   with the same level staff; allowance of RMB 3,000 Yuan per month for 3 years;   relocation allowance of RMB 100,000 Yuan; and research start-up grant of RMB   200,000 Yuan.

6.Postdoctoral Researchers

u  Qualifications & Requirements: have a PhD degree obtained   within recent three years; and generally be under the age of 32.

u  Employment Mode: Postdoctoral Researchers

u  Salary & Fringe Benefits: an annual salary of RMB 200,000   Yuan + bonus; an apartment on campus during postdoctoral research; and   opportunity to be switched into full-time lecturers.
