Recruiting High-level Talents @ School of Electrical Engineering, Chongqing University

Chongqing, the youngest municipality directly under the Central Government, has a rapid economic and social development and its GDP growth rate has been among the top three in China in recent years. Chongqing University (CQU), located in the downtown of Chongqing, is a key national university in China, directly under the State Ministry of Education. It is a high level comprehensive research university supported by the national "211 Project” and “985 Project”. Established in 1936, the School of Electrical Engineering, Chongqing University (SEE) has a long history of nearly 80 years. With its discipline ranking Top 5 in Electrical Engineering all over China, SEE, a key unit in CQU, owns a national first-level key discipline (Electrical Engineering) and a state key laboratory of Power Transmission Equipment & System Security and New Technology. In rapid development period, SEE is in urgent need of a large number of talents to join!

Research Team:

1.Team led by Pro. Li Wenyuan(Note 1)

2. Team led by Pro. Ran Li(Note 2)

3.State Innovation Group on High-voltage Transmission and Distribution  Equipment Security  Theory and Technology

 



Position 1: “National Thousand Talent Project” professionals(or other talents with equivalent qualifications)

Qualifications & Requirements: The applicant should (1) have an overseas doctoral degree; (2) work as a professor or serve in an equivalent position in a well-known overseas university, research institute or corporation; and (3) conduct research in electrical engineering.

Annual Salary & Fringe Benefits: The appointee will get (1) a favorable annual salary equal to or better than that in overseas workplace and (2) necessary research fund and corresponding working conditions according to specific research plan. Details are negotiable.

 


Position 2: “National Thousand Young Talent Project” professionals(or other talents with equivalent qualifications)

Qualifications & Requirements: The applicant should (1) have a doctoral degree from a well-known overseas university and more than 3 years’ research experience abroad, or have a doctoral degree from a domestic university and more than 5 years’ overseas teaching or research experience; (2) generally be under the age of 40, which is negotiable for applicants with outstanding academic performance.

Annual Salary & Fringe Benefits: The appointee will get (1) an equivalent or better annual salary based on the overseas standard and (2) necessary research fund and corresponding working conditions according to specific research plan. Details are negotiable.

 


Position 3: “Yangtze Scholar” / “National Distinguished Young Scholar” (or other talents with equivalent qualifications)

Qualifications & Requirements: The applicant should (1) have a doctoral degree; and (2) be at least an associate professor (for overseas applicant) or a professor (for domestic applicant) or have an equivalent position in a high level university.

Annual Salary & Fringe Benefits: The appointee will get (1) a competitive annual salary of 250,000 plus RMB and (2) necessary research fund and corresponding working conditions according to specific research plan. Details are negotiable.

 


Position 4: “CQU’s Hundred Talent Project” professionals

Qualifications & Requirements: The applicant should (1) have a doctoral degree; (2) have the capability to promote development for the discipline of Electrical Engineering or independently develop a new research direction; and (3) generally be under the age of 40.

Annual Salary & Fringe Benefits: The appointee will get (1) a competitive annual salary of 200,000 plus RMB (negotiable); (2) research fund; and (3) relocation allowance and a favorable discount for house purchase.

 


Position 5: Full-time lecturers

Qualifications & Requirements: The applicant should (1) have a doctoral or higher degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields (obtained within recent two years) from an overseas university or research institute or from a domestic “985 project” or “211 project” university and (2) generally be under the age of 35.

Annual Salary & Fringe Benefits: The appointee will get (1) a competitive annual salary of 100,000 ~ 200,000 RMB (negotiable); (2) 100,000 ~ 300,000 RMB starting fund for research; (3) 100,000 RMB relocation allowance; and (4) 2,000 RMB monthly rent subsidy.

 


Notes:

1) Pro. Li Wenyuan, Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering and internationally renowned scholar on power system reliability, work full time in CQU from Sep., 2013.

2) Pro. Ran Li, “National Thousand Talent Project” professional, is forming a team to conduct research on safety monitoring and evaluation of power electronic equipment.
