On September 26th, 2020, the 6th Smart Energy Online lecture was successfully held, jointly organized by School of Electrical Engineering of Chongqing University, State Key Laboratory of Power Transmission Equipment and System Security and Chongqing Society of Electrical Engineering. Professor Jiang Jing, Fellow of the Royal Canadian Academy of Sciences, Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, and IEEE Fellow was invited to give lecutures on "From Energy to Electrical Power Systems–a Holistic View" and "How to Write and Public high-quality and impactful scientific papers". Dean Assistant of School of Electrical Engineering Ren Zhouyang presided over, nearly 90 teachers and students attended.
During the lectures, professor Jiang introduced the local environment and customs of Western Ontario and the University of Western Ontario, from which the students can see the difference from that of Chonqing University.
Professor Jiang presented energy conversion, power generation, transmission and distribution process with vivid videos and case study, giving the overall concept of power system and promoting students interests in learning this subject. Later in the lecture, professor Jiang mainly shared with students on how to write and publish high-quality and influential research papers from three aspects: the framework to think about before writing a paper, how to organize the content in the writing process, and how to submit the paper after writing. Students actively participated in the Q&A session and expressed that they benefitted a lot from the lectures.
