On February 24th, 2023, the first meeting of the Management Committee of China Southern Power Grid Corporation - Chongqing University Green and Low-carbon Power Grid Joint Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as the "Joint Research Institute") was held in conference room 6119, the Sixth Teaching Building, District A, Chongqing University in a combination of "online + offline". Mr. Yu Jianguo, Director of the Management Committee and Deputy Director of the Expert Committee of China Southern Power Grid, Mr. Xu Shukai, Deputy General manager of the Innovation Management Department of China Southern Power Grid, and Mr. Feng Yedong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Chongqing University attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Yu Jianguo, Director of the Management Committee.
Feng Yedong welcomed the arrival of Yu Jianguo and his delegation, and on behalf of Chongqing University, extended warm congratulations and heartfelt thanks to the establishment of the Joint Research Institute and the long-term support of China Southern Power Grid to Chongqing University. The establishment of the joint research Institute marks the birth of a new high-level large-scale research platform in the field of green and low-carbon power grids. In the future, Chongqing University will give full support to the Joint Research Institute. The Joint Research Institute will focus on the operation and development needs of China Southern Power Grid Company and the construction layout of relevant disciplines of Chongqing University, strengthen the application foundation and strategic research, achieve major breakthroughs in cutting-edge and subversive technologies in the process of energy transformation in China, produce high-quality results, and promote the sustainable development of research in the field of power grid in China. China Southern Power Grid Company and Chongqing University are long-term partners. The two sides will take the establishment of the joint research Institute as an opportunity to explore deeper cooperation and cross-integration, form research forces in key areas, jointly help the construction of China's power grid and create a new situation of national modernization.
Xu Shukai said that the large-scale cooperation between China Southern Power Grid Company and famous universities in the domestic power industry is forward-looking, in line with the spirit of the national 20 report on the trinity of education, science and technology and talents, which is also the original intention of the establishment of the joint research institute. At the meeting, Hu Jianlin, secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Electrical Engineering of Chongqing University, first reported the charter of the joint research Institute and the proposed list of members of the technical committee; Secondly, Xie Kaigui, dean of School of Electrical Engineering and vice president of Joint Research Institute of Chongqing University, reported the special planning of joint Research Institute; Then Hu Jianlin, secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Electrical Engineering of Chongqing University, reported the 2022 work summary and 2023 work plan of the joint research Institute. The management committee reviewed and voted through the charter of the joint Research Institute, the list of members of the technical committee and the special planning, work summary and plan. Subsequently, the two sides carried out in-depth exchanges on the follow-up organization and management of the Joint research Institute and further scientific research cooperation between the two sides.
In his concluding speech, Yu Jianguo said that he hoped to give full play to the advantages of basic research in universities, rely on the application enterprise platform of Southern Power Grid, realize the effective utilization and transformation of high-quality results, further improve the project cooperation mechanism, and promote the all-round development of the two sides in key areas such as major results output, major project cultivation and high-tech personnel training.
