October 29, 2016 marks the 80th anniversary of School of Electrical Engineering, Chongqing University. Founded in 1936, the School is nowone of the oldest andthe most distinctive school in Chongqing University, and gets great reputation at home and abroad. Over 300 alumni, including CAE and CASacademicians, have returned the School from all over the world to celebrate her 80thbirthday.
Vice President of Chongqing University and Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering Professor Liao Ruijin made a speech named“A Road Towards the Dream”, introducing the school history, the status quo, and making perspective towards future development. A series of celebrating activities have taken place, such as alumni forums held by different departments, a tour to SKL-PES, academic reports from CAE academician Professor Li Licheng and CAS academician Professor Chen Weijiang, and lectures given by representative alumni who succeeded in their own fields during the day. In the evening, a variey show ended the whole celebration.
Thepast 80 years witnessed a rapid and prospering development of the school. Looking on the future, the School of Electrical Engineering will carry forward its excellent schooling tradition, striving for the goal of developing itself into a world-class school.
