The 2020 IEEE International Conference on High Voltage Engineering and Application (ICHVE 2020) was held in Beijing on September 6-10th, 2020. Under the present circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, the format of ICHVE 2020 was changed into a virtual conference and held simultaneously online. At the conference, the IEEE Caixin Sun and Stan Gryzbowski Lifetime Achievement Award and the IEEE Caixin Sun and Stan Gryzbowski Young-Professional Achievement Award were presented. In recognition of professor Jiang Xingliang’s 35 years commitment to scientific research and outstanding contributions to the establishment of scientific observation and research base, electrical insulation in extreme environment and ice formation mechanism, disaster causing mechanism and disaster prevention methods etc., he was presented the IEEE Caixin Sun and Stan Gryzbowski Lifetime Achievement Award by Masoud Farzaneh Academician, chairman of the Award Committee.
The IEEE Caixin Sun & Stan Grzybowski Award is held by IEEE to commemorate Sun Caixin Academician from Chongqing University and Stanislaw Grzybowski Academician from Mississippi State University. This award is established to reward the scholars who have made outstanding contributions in the field of high voltage engineering technology and development. Every two years, a Lifetime Achievement Award winner and a Young-Professional Achievement Award winner are selected globally. The award is supported by Sun Caixin Academician Education Foundation of Chongqing University, and IEEE DEIS is responsible for the nomination and selection of outstanding candidates worldwide.
