The Central Publicity Department recently awarded the title of "Role Model of the Times" to the State Grid Sichuan Electric Power Chengdu High-tech Connecting Bridge Party Member Service Team, recognizing them as outstanding representatives of central enterprise grassroots party organizations faithfully practicing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.

Let us focus on the leader of the State Grid Chengdu High-tech Connecting Bridge Party Member Service Team, who graduated from the School of Electrical Engineering at Chongqing University in 2016. During his studies, through relentless effort and with careful guidance from the college and his advisors, he achieved excellent academic results, participated in multiple research projects including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation, and received numerous honors including the National Inspirational Scholarship and Outstanding Individual awards. After graduation, he joined State Grid Chengdu High-tech Power Supply Company and has since earned multiple accolades including "Sichuan Province Outstanding Youth Volunteer Service Individual," "Chengdu Youth May Fourth Medal," and State Grid Corporation's "Model Worker."

As team leader, Wu Hao always works on the frontlines of power emergency repairs. He and his team members maintain 24-hour standby service, making over 4,100 on-site service visits annually, successfully maintaining the team's 22-year record of "zero" complaints, "zero" safety accidents, and "zero" errors in major tasks. During Chengdu's extreme heat, pandemic control periods, earthquake relief efforts in Yibin Changning, and major power supply protection tasks for events such as the World Table Tennis Championships, Universiade, and Thomas & Uber Cup, Wu Hao actively embodies Lei Feng's spirit of fearlessness toward hardship, charging ahead, taking responsibility, and striving to be a diligent servant of the people.
As team leader, Wu Hao focuses on addressing urgent community needs. Since joining the High-tech Party Member Service Team, he has led members to establish partnerships with 15 communities and 46 households including elderly people living alone, disabled individuals, and other vulnerable groups, regularly conducting over 600 volunteer service visits. He has integrated volunteer service into modernizing grassroots governance, leading team members to conduct "Electrician Training: Teaching to Fish" community electrical skills training, "Lighting the Way Home" public welfare action, "Caring Lights Bring Warmth," and "Grateful for You, Service from Me" heartwarming activities honoring elderly party members, going deep into communities to solve people's electricity usage problems.
As team leader, Wu Hao consistently upholds the service commitment to "solve difficult matters, do good deeds, and persevere." He and his team members have implemented the "Connecting Bridge Collaborative Problem-Solving" mechanism. In 2023, they collaborated with Chengdu Power Supply Company's substation maintenance center to technically renovate decommissioned lead-acid batteries from substations. He and team members have conducted over 20 "Power Classrooms" in schools; participated in more than 10 events including Chengdu volunteer service advanced model showcases and Chengdu Publicity Department volunteer service activities; and leveraged the team's "Study Xi Strong Nation Learning Station" to conduct over 500 exchanges and presentations with those inside and outside the industry.
Serving the people, growing through challenges, doing small good deeds, and living youth without regrets—this is Wu Hao's commitment to his work and the goal that motivates him to excel in his position. His exemplary deeds vividly interpret our Party's commitment to putting people first and fully demonstrate the spirit of Communist Party members in the new era who can be recognized during ordinary times, stand out in critical moments, and step forward in emergencies. His advanced deeds also vividly portray our School of Electrical Engineering's adherence to the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education and our original aspiration and mission of cultivating talent for the Party and the country.
Regarding his student Wu Hao, his advisor Zhang Zhanlong stated, "From the beginning of his graduate studies, Wu Hao actively communicated with teachers about his research direction and goals. He worked extremely hard in both academics and research, participating in multiple horizontal research projects and one National Natural Science Foundation project. In these research projects, he not only actively discussed issues with teachers but also, with teachers' encouragement and support, participated in research surveys and scientific conferences, independently analyzing and solving problems, fully utilizing his strengths and developing his abilities.
In our graduate education process, the college and the advisor team have always prioritized students' academic integrity and moral character development. Throughout Wu Hao's research and studies, we continuously emphasized and guided him to establish correct academic concepts and cultivate his sense of social responsibility and humanitarian care. This is also one of the essential qualities for becoming an outstanding electrical worker."
